Dr. James Harris' Bio

RESTORE® is led by our medical director, Dr. James Harris.  Dr. Harris is a pioneer in the field of F.U.E. hair restoration. He’s a multi-award winning doctor, renowned author, international public speaker, and the inventor of the ‘Harris S.A.F.E System’, which is the medical device used to perform F.U.E by doctors throughout the world. As the international chairman of the F.U.E. research committee, he’s trained hundreds of doctors and has made F.U.E. advancement the focal point of his career. Dr. Harris has been featured on tv and talk shows, and is considered by his peers to be one of the world’s foremost experts in the field of hair restoration.    

He was also the lead consulting physician on the development of the ARTAS™ robot, an image- and algorithm-guided system that uses robotics to make the best selection of follicular units for each individual. ARTAS utilizes the Harris S.A.F.E.™ System dissecting system. He was the chair of the F.U.E. Advancement Committee and leads the organization’s research efforts in the field of F.U.E.

He is the 2014 recipient of the prestigious Golden Follicle Award for significant clinical contributions to the field of hair restoration, an award given once annually to one innovator in the field around the globe. He is a published author of both medical and consumer publications and teaches hair transplantation to physicians from around the globe. He frequently lectures around the world to hair transplant surgeons regarding best practices in places such as Delhi, Bangkok, Istanbul, and throughout the United States.

As the Medical Director of RESTORE®, he is committed to providing the very best hair loss treatments, including medical and surgical treatments for hair loss. As part of this commitment, patient education and the highest standards of care are his first priority. He is supported by an exceptionally experienced team of fellow hair doctors, nurses and technicians specializing in hair replacement surgery.

Dr. Harris authored, The Hair Replacement Revolution: A Consumer’s Guide to Effective Hair Replacement Techniques. This successful consumer guide is a comprehensive overview of the field of hair restoration that educates both men and women as they seek appropriate solutions to their hair loss. Dr. Harris has also authored numerous book chapters and peer reviewed articles. He also teaches and presents at professional meetings all over the world.
